Altitude: 1.178 m
Längenfeld and Huben can be found right in the center of the valley. The wide open basin formed by the glaciers attracts walkers, hikers and cyclists from near and far. Thanks to its central location it makes a wonderful starting point for several high Alpine tours and outing destinations within the rear Ötztal Valley. In Längenfeld you also have the chance to explore its "upper floor", the secluded mountain village of Gries at 1600 m above sea level. Hikers, mountaineers and alpinists get together here just like sporty families and nature explorers of all ages. Gries is the undisputed mountain hiking village in the Ötztal, awarded with the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal.
In the surroundings of Längenfeld winter fans can look forward to a varied range of activities in the outdoors: ice climbing on frozen waterfalls, winter walking, tobogganing, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing are on the daily program. Nisslalm and Amberger Hütte are renowned among running fans while families explore the splendid Trail of Ötztal Legends. A state-of-the-art suspension bridge near the hamlet of Brand ranks among the - both architectural and adventurous - highlights in the central valley. Afterwards you are strongly recommended to relax your tired legs in the soothing waters of the Aqua Dome Spa Center with its thermal outdoor pools embedded in Ötztal's stunning Alpine scenery.
